We recently fielded reports of a Mikrotik OS bug wherein user accounts do not properly authenticate if there is a dollar-sign in their password.
A subscriber or one of your staff who inadvertently uses a dollar sign in a password could have a very difficult time figuring out why they can’t get online after updating their password, generating potentially long support calls.  Naturally, we prefer to eliminate that overhead so that problem never happens.
We’ve added a work-around to disallow the dollar sign characters, or other characters as you may determine at a later date, from wireless passwords.  If one is used, a friendly error states the characters that cannot be used in passwords right now.
This setting can now be modified in the ISP Config > Packages > Wireless Settings.

The CSM (Customer Self Maintenance) system has also been updated since the password of active wireless services can also be edited there.
