Some time ago visp.net suspended the publishing of our NOC Nuuz, “News from the Network Operations Center at visp.net.” If you’ve ever published a newsletter before, you know how time-consuming it can be. We determined that, by the time we interviewed, wrote, and proofed the articles, added images, edited the layout, and put together the finishing touches, publishing our newsletter was consuming 40 to 80 hours. Ben Franklin said, “Well done is better than well said.” So it seemed that our resources were better focused on enhancing our products.
But all the work visp.net devotes to product development can go unrecognized or, worse, underused if we don’t tell you what we’ve done for you lately.
That’s where NOC Nuuz (version 3.0) comes in, now faster, leaner and timelier using tried and true Web 2.0 blog technology. Now, any one of our staff can write a short paragraph or two and post it to the blog with screenshots, etc. to keep you posted on visp.net’s latest developments as soon as they are released. We’ll spend less time proofing because corrections can be made on the fly, so we ask for your forgiveness in advance for the occasional typos, mispelings, and grammatical errors.
We think this is win-win. You get the “Nuuz” and it saves us hundreds of hours a year that can be better invested in you and your subscribers. In other words, more time invested in “well done” and less time invested in “well said.”
Oh, and we’re always looking for better ways to cut costs and improve services to deliver the maximum value to you and your subscribers. So if you have any ideas or suggestions, let us know!
