The Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) has approved a request from the United States Postal Service (USPS) for a 3 cent increase on all postal rates (from $0.46 to $0.49), starting January 28, 2013. This is the first part of a two-part postage price increase requested by the USPS for 2014. Why did you only hear about this now? The mailers coalition have been actively debating the increase with the PRC and the United States Postal Service. The final verdict to increase the rates haven’t been finalized until recently. Our bulk mail service provider waited until after the final announcement from the PRC to inform us.
Visp ISPs, who use the automated paper invoice features, are directly affected by the new pricing. You may refer to the USPS website, for more details on the new rates for all services and packages. Fortunately, with your Paper Invoice Fee option, your paper invoices can be a profit center and the price increase can be passed on to subscribers if you choose, or subscribers also have the option to opt for electronic invoices.
