Prorate comes in when you’re charging for a new plan or packages or for additional plans or packages within the subscriber’s existing term.
Prorate in VISP Desktop App
To launch, go to ISP Settings > Billing Options > Invoicing > Prorate Options.
Prorate in VISP Web App
To launch, go to Settings > Billing > Invoicing > Prorate Options
Here are the items available when you click on the highlighted links for the prorate options when billing new packages, when billing packages after suspension, or after changing your billing settings.
- Do not prorate.
- No prorate will be charged. For a monthly-billing subscriber When a package is added in the middle of the month or term, the new package will be charged in full on the invoice for the billing period.
- Add prorate to full term.
- Prorate plus the next full term (applies to Quarterly and Annual billing cycles). For Quarterly subscribers, invoice charges will be the Prorate plus three months or one quarter. For Annual subscribers, invoice charges will be the Prorate plus twelve months.
- Include prorate as part of term longer than one month.
- Prorate is already included in the current term (only applies to Quarterly and Annual billing cycles). For Quarterly subscribers, invoice charges will be the Prorate + 2 months. For Annual subscribers, invoice charges will be the Prorate + 11 months.
When the option to, “Create a separate invoice for prorate and setup fee,” is checked or toggled, a subscriber will have a separate invoice showing the prorate and setup fee charges of the package.
